IPL PhotoFacial~

PhotoFacial helps restore your skin’s natural glow and erase damage caused by the environment. The light therapy penetrates the skin targeting pigmentation and vascular concerns. The pigmentation will get darker over the course of the next several hours resembling a coffee ground.  Over the next several weeks the darkened areas will begin to flake off revealing lighter brighter skin. Also, redness to the skin will appear less noticeable leaving you with a more youthful appearance.

Photo Facial can be used to treat a variety of skin conditions, including the following:

  • Sun and smoke damage

  • Mild acne scars

  • Enlarged pores

  • Dull complexions

  • Uneven pigmentation

  • Broken capillaries

  • Pigmented freckles and age spots

  • Rosacea

  • Liver spots

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

How is PhotoFacial Treament done?

After cleansing the skin to remove any make and oil an Aesthetician will apply a cold gel to the skin. The PhotoFacial treatment is then preformed. After treatment we apply cold compresses and SPF prior to leaving.

Pre-IPL PhotoFacial Treatment?

4 weeks prior and day of treatment it is required that you stop any prescriptions that causes photosensitivity, tanning, and use a brightening product.   Stop any retinoid or exfoliating products 5 days prior. In addition, we do recommend that you stop any non-prescribed blood thinners and fish oil prior to your treatment, as this may cause unnecessary bruising. For the clients that are concerned about bruising we also recommend Arnica Montana tablets 5 days prior to treatment.

Post-IPL PhotoFacial Treatment?

24 hours post you to avoid hot showers, Jacuzzis, and exercise. This is to ensure best treatment and allow the benefits of the IPL PhotoFacial Treatment! Do not use any retinoid or exfoliating products 5 days after. Please note there are at home skincare products that our staff may recommend to assist with other concerns or enhance your results. Should you experience lingering heat more than a slight sunburn ice the area and contact the office with any questions.

How many Treatments are needed?

Most patients undergo between five and eight 30-minute treatments which are scheduled four weeks apart. While you may notice some redness to your skin immediately following PhotoFacial, you can return to normal activities as 24 hours after the treatment is over.

Your Photo Facial treatment is a personalized procedure. Dr. Mallory’s staff will be happy to discuss Photo Facial prices with you on an individual basis.
